I noticed on the church website, http://www.lifepointgainesville.com/, that Pastor Dave was going to preach a sermon titled, "The Seed Snatcher." I thought it best that I prepare the soil.
Mat 13:19 The seed that fell on the hard path represents those who hear the Good News about the Kingdom and don't understand it. Then the evil one comes and snatches the seed away from their hearts.
Mat 13:20 The rocky soil represents those who hear the message and receive it with joy.
Mat 13:21 But like young plants in such soil, their roots don't go very deep. At first they get along fine, but they wilt as soon as they have problems or are persecuted because they believe the word.
Mat 13:22 The thorny ground represents those who hear and accept the Good News, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares of this life and the lure of wealth, so no crop is produced.
Mat 13:23 The good soil represents the hearts of those who truly accept God's message and produce a huge harvest--thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted."
Dear Lord,
Thank you for supplying me with ample seed to replant the fields of my faith. I pray that this time, I sow your seed in the good soil you have provided. I know I am guilty of living my life on the hard ground by my own will. Season after season, I have stood by idly, like a fair-weather farmer and allowed His seed to fall on rocky ground. I have turned my back on the fertile fields you have supplied me. I have let the thorns grow thick. I have carlessly allowed the evil one to come and snatch the seed from my heart. I pray earnestly now my Lord for Your strength to work the good ground that You have provided, for your mercy is great. I have the tools you have provided to tend and work the field. May my efforts bear fruits and multiply Your Kingdom. Selah
